ROOTED IN COMMITMENT

The 2026 Florida Farm to School Conference brought together educators, school nutrition professionals, farmers, and partners from across Florida to deepen connections between students, Florida-grown food, and agriculture education.

Through immersive sessions, shared successes, and hands‑on learning, participants explored actionable strategies aligned with Farm to School’s three core pillars: School Gardens, Agricultural Education, and Procurement. Farm Tours at the Conference

During this year’s conference, registrants had the opportunity to participate in one of three immersive, behind‑the‑scenes farm tours at working farms in and around Tampa.

These hands‑on experiences allowed attendees to see Farm to School practices in action, connect with the growers behind the movement, and gather real‑world insights to bring back to their schools and communities.

Tour locations included:

  • Wish Farms Headquarters – Plant City, FL
  • Sweetwater Community Organic Farm – Tampa, FL
  • Meacham Organic Farm – Tampa, FL
Farmers Market Expo

The Farmers Market Expo was a standout moment at the conference, creating space for meaningful connections between Florida farmers, school nutrition professionals, educators, and partners from across the state.

Throughout the Expo, attendees engaged directly with producers, explored a wide range of Florida‑grown products, and laid the foundation for procurement and education partnerships.

By bringing school stakeholders and producers together in one place, the Expo reinforced the role of collaboration in strengthening Florida’s food system and advancing the shared work of increasing local products in school meals.
