What is Harvest of the Month?
Florida Harvest of the Month encourages kids to eat more fruits and vegetables by promoting seasonal eating, healthy diets and agricultural education.
It highlights a locally sourced Florida product each month that is showcased in schools and classrooms. Harvest of the Month is a perfect complement to other Farm to School initiatives. It provides free, ready-to-go lessons correlated to core academic standards that explore and promote the use of Florida-grown products in K-8 classrooms.
The program aims to provide participants with local, healthy products while supporting Florida farmers and food producers.
