A Farm at School: Florida Farm to School Virtual Town Hall

Calling all Florida Farm to School champions, educators, and school nutrition directors!

Join the Florida Farm to School team for our upcoming Virtual Town Hall, as we explore how Roosevelt Farms grew into one of the state’s most established multi-crop production programs over its 31-year journey.

Our speaker, Ray Cruze, agriculture teacher and FFA advisor for Roosevelt Academy, will share practical, step-by-step guidance for launching or expanding a school-based farm, including crop selection, marketing strategies, and building strong business partnerships.

Along the way we’ll explore various production methods like hydroponics and aquaponics and highlight how farm-based learning can support STEM and Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals while helping students build meaningful vocational and employability skills.
