Bringing the Farm to School Training (Region 2)

Farmers, fishers, ranchers, food processors and food manufacturers in Hamilton, Suwannee, Lafayette, Dixie, Gilchrist, Alachua, Bradford, Union, Columbia, Baker, Nassau, Duval, Clay, Putnam, St. Johns, Flagler counties are invited to join the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) for our Region 2 “Bringing the Farm to School” producer training.

Bringing the Farm to School trainings are intended for food producers interested in learning about selling food into school markets.

During this training, you will:

  • Learn about the Florida Farm to School initiative
  • Uncover opportunities to market and sell your products to Florida schools
  • Meet and network with School Food Authorities in Northwest Florida, responsible for sourcing foods for school meals
  • Learn about business planning when growing for schools
  • Discover which of your products are fit for school meals
  • Learn about food safety and standards in schools
  • Tour a local farm currently serving schools
